COMPUTER CODING

Level I – Young Coders

The TAS Level I Young Coders Program is to introduce young students into computer coding. Students review basics of computer coding, solve logic puzzles, and work with intuitive front-end software that helps them create games and programs. As students progress they learn coding languages such as HTML5 and CSS3, as well as Javascript and Python.

Students are not required to have any previous coding experience for this course.

Next Level: Level II – Young Developers.

Start Thinking Like A Coder

The first step in learning how to code is thinking like a real coder. We use hands-on learning to help students understand parts of code such as while loops, and if statements. Kids then apply this coding and make their own programs using real software and create their own works.

Web Design

Website design is the perfect way for young students to become interested in coding. Kids today spend large amounts of time on websites such as Youtube, Twitter, and more. This allows them to have fun learning coding while creating their very own website!

As students become familiar with headers, footers, and body, they learn HTML5 and CSS3 coding. These coding classes are geared towards making sure kids have hands on learning while they code and really understand coding languages in depth.

SCRATCH BY MIT

Made by MIT for Young Coders

The TAS Young Coders program uses Scratch the way it was intended: to teach kids how to code. Kids use all of the different coding modules, mix and match different syntax, and create brand new games, programs, and User Interfaces on their own. We teach them every step of the way.

This user-friendly interface helps kids put together programs and learn to code without having to deal with syntax debugging at a young age. We make sure that learning to code is easy, fun, and effective!
